Andrew Edwards

Born in Burma in November 1940, shortly before the Japanese invasion, Andrew Edwards has lived in the UK since the autumn of 1942 apart from two years studying at Harvard University in the USA. After attending Scottish schools and St John’s College Oxford, he worked in public service roles as a Civil Servant (mainly at the Treasury) for over 32 years and then as a Public Sector Consultant for some 20 years before developing to the full a lifelong passion for composing music alongside serving as Music Director of the Academy Choir & Orchestras in Wimbledon, which he founded in 1980, and writing a few books.

This website provides links to the archive recordings, and the related booklets and vocal scores, of Andrew’s latest concert-length Oratorios, The Passion Story, now included here for the first time, and Galilee to Jerusalem. It also gives a list of Andrew’s musical compositions, including guidance on how to obtain the relevant scores and booklets and in some cases (notably his two earlier Oratorios) listen to the archive recordings.
